Who these terms are with

Services on this site are provided by Steven Palmieri, Dallas, Texas. Reading on past this page is how you accept these terms. The work that is not done here is written on the Disclosures page, and those limits are part of these terms.

What the pages are for

What you read here is general information for an owner. It is not a reading of your own file, and reading it does not make you a client. A lumpy shipping year does not rewrite these terms. Rules change, and they land differently on a year that is lumpy than on a year that is even, so check anything that would change a return before you rely on it.

A short talk is a conversation

The short talk offered here creates no engagement, no duty that continues, and no duty on either side. You will hear what the practice sees and what a written engagement would cover, including when the honest answer is that you do not need one yet. Paid work starts only when both sides sign a letter that names the scope and the fee.

Scope and fees

The scope is written down before the work starts. The fee is quoted for that scope. Anything past that scope gets its own quote before anyone does it. Either side can stop the engagement with a written note. Fees earned up to that day are still due, and your records come back to you.

A price you hear on the short talk describes the work. It is not yet a bill. The bill exists after both sides sign. If the records are thinner than that letter assumed, the letter is rewritten before more work starts. A heavy shipping quarter does not, by itself, change a fee. A year of unclosed months might, and you hear that before you agree.

What the work needs from you

The result follows the records it is built on. You supply complete records, you stand behind what your own systems say, and you make the decisions. When something does not tie, you will hear it. A month that is still open is not a base for the next step.

The site itself

The words, the layouts, and the pictures belong to the practice that publishes this site. You may read them, print them, and quote them if you say where they came from. You may not copy the site as your own, and you may not use it to train a product unless you have written permission.

The site is offered as it stands. We work to keep it right and reachable, and we do not promise it will never be wrong or never be down. This page does not cut back any liability the law refuses to limit.

Where a dispute goes

Texas law governs these terms. A disagreement that we cannot settle in writing is filed in a Dallas County court.
